How It works

How It Works Process (Do Not Delete)

STEP 1: DISCOVERY

First, you’ll have a phone/video call with a member from our team. We’ll discuss project plans and scope of work to determine if we are a good fit for your needs.

Step 2: Site-Visit

Second, we’ll Meet client on site to discuss and finalize scope. Contracts are signed.

Step 3: On-Boarding

We prepare you for your project. We let you know our responsibilities and your responsibilities to make this project successful.

Leadership Team

Lance Bertrand is the founder and CEO of Turn Key Design & Construction, Inc. His initial interest in construction started as a teenager when his father decided to renovate the family’s Brooklyn Brownstone. Lance started designing kitchens at 17 years old at IKEA Brooklyn. He continued to do that through his academic career in which he received a B.A. in Business Management from SUNY Stony Brook. Turn Key was incorporated in 2013 under the premise of turning “Visions into reality” metaphorically and literally for his team and clients. Lance also has experience in high-end real estate sales in which he sold over $15,000,000 worth of property and over 30 rental deals within his first 2 years in the business. Lance believes in longevity in everything that he does and knows there is enough to go around. Turn Key was created to bring a one-stop-shop white-glove contracting service to high-end clients saving them time so that clients can focus on the things that matter most.

Jose Pineda

Jose Pineda came to America at age 19 from Honduras. Shortly after his arrival, he started as a helper sweeping floors for a contracting company, AJ Greenwich. Young with a desire to learn more he quickly moved up in the ranks within the company. By 23 years old Jose was a Foreman managing multi-million dollar townhouse projects. He learned from the best of the best highly skilled carpenters from all over the world. With a growing family and a beautiful wife to care for, Jose decided to start his own company Maya Builder’s Corp. As a self-performing contractor with a growing book of business, he saw early success. Jose and Lance met through a mutual friend when Lance was looking for new subcontractors. Upon meeting, Lance was thoroughly impressed by Jose’s knowledge, efficiency, and calm demeanor. After being a subcontractor to Turn Key for 2 years amongst catering to his own clients, Lance aggressively pursued Jose to join Turn Key as he thought they could do more together than working individually. Jose listened to Lance’s requests but politely declined for about 2 years and planned to move his family down south. Lance insisted Jose stay in NYC metro area and build Turn Key alongside him. In August 2017 Jose closed Maya Builder’s Corp after purchasing a home in NJ. Jose joined Turn Key in September 2017 as the director of field operations and Turn Key has seen a lot of success due to this partnership. When Jose is not at work leading Turn Key’s team he is at home leading his family. A man of few words, Jose enjoys fishing in his downtime when he is not on family duty.
